Hiya Jack, just curious how you went about creative this illustration? Was it a scan in and trace with the Wacom sort of thing? It looks GGGGgggggrrrreeeaaat! by the way. Ok, that was lame.
This was penciled and inked traditionally. I used a combination of brush and pen when I inked this. (mostly pen.... mostly.....)
Then I colored it in Photoshop with my Wacom.
He went through some changes between the pencil and ink stage. The client wanted the tiger to look a little nicer. So I had to fix the eyes, fix the teeth and mouth and make the claws less threatening.
I grew up in Denver, went to High School in Utah then graduated from College in Denver. Started my art career right out of High School. For the last 19 years I have worked in many aspects of the comic art and illustration field. I have worked for Disney, Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Chaos! Comics, Image, Wizard Magazine and Dark Horse. I am currently working for an advertising company doing illustration, design and photo re-touching.
I am married to a very beautiful Japanese woman. I have one wonderful Boston Terrier, named Dauber.
